For this project Chris was my model. I had one light on the backround on one on half is face. i cut out the image, put it on black and white and then added my sunset picture. I had to use layer mask and then blended it. I moved it so you could see his eyes.

The color and lighting are what is working so nicely together along with the gap of dark to focus on Chris's eyes. I don't think the expression in the portrait is working for you at all, or the sweatshirt. Make sure you direct your model to get the shot you want.
